Packed full of spring goodness, this exclusive green sencha tea is sought after on the Japanese market fetching extremely high prices. Grown in the southern Australian alpine regions, it has notes of sweet and earthy grass, strong umami, nori and hints of chestnuts with a creamy texture and balanced astringency.
It is grown and processed using the same age old techniques first perfected in Japan. The climate conditions in the southern alpine regions of Australia are similar to the conditions found in many of the best Japanese green tea farms. The altitude and distinct four seasons helps these plants mature and build in hardiness and nutrients. The Camellia Sinensis plant accumulates nutrients over the winter and as Spring arrives these beneficial nutrients can be found in these tea leaves.
